These Proofs are not written in two-column format. They are written in a way for you to be able to understand the different congruent relationships that lead us to the conclusion that the two triangles are congruent to each other.

(SAS) Side-Angle-Side Congruence

Side-Angle-Side Congruence means we have two different triangles, and two sides and one angle of the first triangle is congruent to two sides and one angle of the second triangle. The congruent angle must be located in-between the two sides (Side-Angle-Side).

When SAS congruence exists this means that all of the other sides and angles will be congruent to each other, and so the two triangles will be congruent to each other.

(SSS) Side-Side-Side Congruence

Side-Side-Side Congruence means we have two different triangles, and the three sides of the first triangle is congruent to the three sides of the second triangle.

When SSS congruence exists this means that all of the other sides and angles will be congruent to each other, and so the two triangles will be congruent to each other.

(AAS) Angle-Angle-Side Congruence

Angle-Angle-Side Congruence means we have two different triangles, and two angles and one side of the first triangle is congruent to two angles and one side of the second triangle. The two congruent angles must be next to each other and the side must be next to one of the angles

(Angle-Angle-Side).

When AAS congruence exists this means that all of the other sides and angles will be congruent to each other, and so the two triangles will be congruent to each other.

(ASA) Angle-Side-Angle Congruence
